Privacy & Cookie Policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
This policy explains what personal information sophiaplatt.com (the "Site") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. The Site is operated by Sophia Platt and hosted on Squarespace.
1. Information you give me. If you use the contact form or subscribe to updates, I collect what you submit: typically your name, email address, organization and message. I use it only to respond to you, to manage our correspondence and, if you subscribed, to send you updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
2. Information collected automatically. Like most websites, the Site automatically records basic technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, the referring website and the time of your visit. This is used to keep the Site secure and working, and to understand in aggregate how visitors use it.
3. Cookies. Cookies are small text files stored on your device. The Site uses strictly necessary cookies, set by Squarespace, which make the Site work and keep it secure and cannot be switched off; analytics cookies, which help me understand how visitors find and use the Site and are only set with your consent where the law requires it; and third-party cookies from embedded content such as videos, maps or social media links, which may be set by those providers under their own policies.
When you first visit, a cookie banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings link, or by clearing or blocking cookies in your browser.
4. Legal basis (EU and UK visitors). I process personal information to respond to your requests (legitimate interests or steps before entering into a contract), with your consent (non-essential cookies and email updates), and to comply with legal obligations.
5. Sharing. I do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. I share it only with service providers who help run the Site and my correspondence (such as Squarespace for hosting and forms, and my email provider), with members of my team who handle my correspondence, or where required by law.
6. International transfers. The Site and its service providers are based in the United States. If you visit from elsewhere, your information will be processed in the US, under safeguards such as standard contractual clauses where required.
7. Retention. I keep contact messages for as long as needed to respond and maintain our correspondence, and analytics data in aggregated form. You can ask me to delete your information at any time.
8. Your rights. Depending on where you live, including in the EU, the UK and California, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of any sale or sharing. To make a request, use the Contact page. I will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. EU and UK visitors may also complain to their local data protection authority.
9. Children. The Site is not directed at children under 16, and I do not knowingly collect their personal information.
10. Changes. I may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date shows the latest version.
11. Contact. For privacy questions or requests, please use the Contact page.
